Written by: Taylor Post CAT(C), Certified Athletic Therapist We are all going to be looking like the snowman on the right with all of the shoveling we’ve had to do this winter! 💪🏻
It looks like more of the white stuff is on the way… so make sure to warm up properly before you shovel snow, and keep the following tips in mind: 1. Bend at the knees and lift with your legs. (Not your back!) 2. Shovel smaller loads of snow at a time, rather than big heavy scoops. 3. Brace your core and avoid twisting. Try to move your feet instead of your body. 4. A wider grip (hands further apart) on the shovel will give you more leverage. Stay safe! ❄️⛄️❄️☃️❄️⛄️❄️☃️❄️⛄️❄️☃️❄️⛄️ You might also like: Balance Exercises to Prevent Falls Outdoor Winter Activities - including how to dress in layers for the weather
